I was only confused because the wording of this riddle didn't say if we could dump any water. My initial thought was the correct thought but minimal specification on a specific riddle confuses any over thinker. So essentially this riddle is designed to only say "you're completely average in thinking" not a slow thinker or an abstract thinker.

Professor Layton puzzles be like

I came up with a different answer
fill the 5 liter bottle and empty it into the 3 liter bottle
now you have 2 liters left in the 5 liter bottle
empty that into the 4 liter bottle, and now empty the 3 liter bottle into the 5 liter bottle and fill that up again
now empty that into the 3 liter bottle, now you have 2 liters in the 5 liter bottle and empty that into the 4 liter bottle
Boom!! There are 4 liters in the 4 liter bottle
btw, is it litre or liter?

This was easy lol 😂

A much easier way to do it is just fill up the 5liter one half way and fill up the 3 liter bottle halfway. 2.5 + 1.5= 4

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

How about putting 4 liters in the 5 liter bottle? 😹

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

I solved it in 2 seconds

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

fill both bottles half way: 2,5 + 1,5 = 4l

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

fill both bottles half way :/
half of 5 id 2.5. half of 3 is 1.5.

2.5 plus 1.5 is 4.

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

you could just fill up each halfway. half of 5 =2.5 and half of 3 = 1.5 and 2.5+1.5=4.

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

these were so easy tho lmao

WARNING ARMY WILL BE HERE LIKE ME COMMENTING LOL😂😂😂

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

5/2=2.5 3/2=1.5 1.5+2.5=4 fill the 5 liter and 3 liter half way…..

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

Also… fill up both half-way. 2.5 + 1.5 = 4

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

Fill them both up and look at the 2 tops of each bottle. Then the 4 liters is in the middle of the space

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

7 plastic red cups are one litter so fill 28 of them up and u have 4liters

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

Or you can just fill half of the two bottles since 5 divided by 2 is 2.5, 3 divided by 2 is 1.5 then put them together and you got 4 liters.

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

i filled up the 3 litre bottle, put it into the 5 litre bottle, froze it and then filled the 5 litre twice more as it would only have 2 litre room left, boom 4 litre

Eugene turned into Asian Sherlock… lmao

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

Yo I saw this like, a few years ago and couldn't get it, but I got it really fast this time

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

I said you fill up the 5 liter, then you use the water in the 5 liter to fill up the 3 liter. This would leave you with 2 liters in the five liter. You poor those 2 liters into the pot or whatever you need it for, then you repeat that process which would give you 4 liters

• September 14, 2017 at 12:08 pm

Fill each half way? Half of 5 = 2.5, half of three 1.5, 2.5 + 1.5 = 4
