The Riddle of the Sands

All these toys are linked by the fact that they involve sand flowing from one place to another. Sometimes this flow can create amazing images, sometimes static images, and sometimes moving ones. In other cases the flowing sand gradually reveals words or a picture. And in at least one case, the flowing sand provides the energy which powers a toy’s movement.

I had one for my husband in 1976, the exact shape but his was blue and white. I watched it constantly (I remember the date so well because I was pregnant with our first baby)

SMH….. You're an idiot…(For more than this one following reason.)
Also on the boxes/cubes, they only needed the one little initial shake. You ruined the pyramid that was forming on the first cube/box, by continuing to shake it.

I am curious…What keeps the pink sand from mixing more evenly with the regular sand? Anyone know?

Awesome. Enjoyed this immensely. And I don't feel the least bit threatened.

The sand bar with a metal Ball Bearing in it basically how it works is when you shake it the ball bearing goes up in the air and that in the spaces in between the ball bearing and the sides of the tube allow the sand to seep through underneath the ball bearing Rising it up ball bearing does not fall down since the sand is a solid

Especially in spain you can see a lot of things that are also two layers of glass, with all kinds of colored sand, that of course have different densities etc, and are partially filled with colored water and just a bit of air in it. You turning them over but also tilting them etc is hours and hours of fun, and you never get the same result of course.
Each time i go to spain i need a different size or color etc 😛
