Inspire Yale: Fifty People, One Question

We asked fifty Yalies the same question: “If you could call yourself from 5 years ago, and had only thirty seconds to talk, what would you say?” Students think back to their high school years, what they enjoyed the most but also what they would have done differently.

Really cool. Bright people in a time of life that is exceptionally difficult and confusing. Reflecting on their ability to get there triggers self-criticism and looking into the future.

it looks obvious that they were told how to react to the question. Alot of obviously fake "thinking" looks

Good luck getting a job with your PC bs morals and a gender studies "degree".
Yale is gone, you "millennials" and regressives ruined it.

Learn early not to be easily offended by dumb shit.

I'm an atheist, but this video kind of makes an interesting case for the silence of God (if there was one). Everyone here was given the chance to play God and say something profound or helpful or consoling…yet most of them either realized there was a) nothing much to say or b) they did just fine in those 5 years without any supernatural help or guidance.. So yeah…if the Flying Spaghetti Monster existed, maybe it knows better than to magically appear at your doorstep someday and warn you or guide you about life. You'll make it…or you just won't.

Why all the intrusive annoying background music? Was this video made by students from Harvard? Well done you, if it was. It doesn't really show Yale in a good light, does it?

The ingenuity of this video exists because all the advice given can be taken away by anyone. As I watch, I don't know what I would say to myself here with the retrospect five years, but it could be the same as any of the answers of these Yale students.

So like, you added a bunch of dramatic music when half of the video was people standing there not being able to come up with an answer. Nice, Yale.

What's up with all the cheesy feel-good music and jump cut editing? You kinda over did it.

Couldn't finish watching it, sorry. Their initial reactions were interesting to watch, but all the confusion after that really bothered me.

I would have said: Things will get so much better for you. You have absolutely no pretense of how amazing your life will be in 5 years. Don't give up, it is going to pay off soon. It only goes up from here. Also- Know that although you feel alone, you are loved immensely.
