This is how you know Feminists and SJWs generally don't watch Rocky movies.

A year and a half ago I quit my job in the oil and gas industry to pursue my love of guitars. I spent a good chunk of change to go to a six month trade school to learn how to be a luthier (guitar builder). Upon leaving that I was fortunate enough to have multiple big companies show an interest in me, but they were more assembly line kinds of jobs. I turned them all down to be an apprentice with one of the more reputable small time builders whose guitars go sometimes as much as a brand new car. When he offered me the apprenticeship, I knew it was going to come with some big commitments on my part. Two years unpaid, and then maybe if I was good enough he would hire me on full time. I made enough money in the oil field to cover myself for a while, but going two years unpaid is a lot of money to dump into rent, food, internet, etc. The struggle was there on day one.

Things started off okay, but then a few months in it all started going downhill. I was making dumb little mistakes that began to accumulate. Nothing I couldn't fix, but he more I did them, the more my boss would hold them over my head. I became self-conscious of them, and then they started getting into my mind and messing with my confidence. I began to question my own worth and my own skill, which led to a death spiral in my productivity and moral.

That's where I'm at right now. I'm on the cusp of being fired from something I love so much. Ten months in so far as an apprentice and even though I know I've learned so much, I feel like I have nothing to show for it. Everyday I walk into the shop loathing what nit-picky bullcrap I'm going to get chewed out for today. I feel worthless sometimes. I don't want to fail at this. I've already had to give up one dream job before in my life. Now here I am, getting kicked when I'm down over and over and over again, yet somehow still finding that inner drive to bear through it all, grit my teeth, and keep on going.

I want to believe that I'm going to make it through this. I refuse to let the criticisms and negativity keep me down. Because that's how winning is done!

This may not be the best Rocky movie. But I tell you this is in the Top 10 or 5 best scenes in the Rocky series.

I have a self- pity brother who always blames others for his mistakes as his excuse to avoid accountability to justify being a bum, who just sulks when faced with any difficulty in life and won't get up after getting hit in life.

I see so many inspiring things in this speech. One of being a father, the love he shows for his son, even when he is not the perfect father. The bond he had with his son when his son was young and how he knew him growing up and what he has seen within him. Then the knowledge he has acquired through life and experience and no matter how good you think you are, your father will always have the best advice for you. Then there is the inspiration of life, how to live it, what to expect from it, how to act towards it and who to be in it. To me this is the BEST speech out there. The entire scene, the feel of it. This is what I see.
