Ark : Heavy Turret is a monster!

Hello everyone and welcome to Lucky By Nature. We finally have the heavy turret and we are testing the regular turrets against the new turrets to see how they differ. The end result is unbelievable.

What do you guys think? Will this turret change the way we all play the game on PvP? Will the Stego be yesterday's news? Or do you think this change won't change anything?

The reason to include one regular turret into the heavy turret recipe is to let the players to "recicle" their regular turrets, if they already have 100 regular placed, they will need to pick one regular and replacing it with the heavy one, if they doesnt include it on the recipe, then the players will end grinding them, sounds logic, dont u think?

because they want you to use your auto turrets that are all ready made

Makes plenty of sense they have a regular turret in the crafting costs since people are going to have to replace 100s, if not 1000s of them that are now useless

If you cant get heavy Ts before 100, you still need to defend yourself with regulars. Using a regular in the cost of the heavy gives you the option to turn the auto you already have into a heavy. WC is assuming that youre going to already have your 100 turret in 34 foundation cap so it allows you to have the option of replacing one or a handful at a time at a slightly reduced cost than having to farm the full mats of both a regular and a heavy all at once.

They have it include one turret so it makes it easy for ppl who have a bunch of turrets already less loss

They should have placed a 400 turrets limit or 100 turrets x4 damage instead of this crap. You still have 400 bullets hitting and so the game has to calculate every hit how is this not the same thing lagging servers.

Lucky, something had to be done. The reason I left pvp was the lag and Dc'ing from 1000 turrets. It was stupid retarded. All u had to do was flood your base with turrets, the attackers dc and dinos get lit up… log back in to a dead dino. That's not how defense should work.

It's so people can upgrade their existing turrets since most have so many

I think it's fine and makes sense to me. In order to make a heavy turret you need a regular turret. Like a mustang you can't make a Selene without the car. You need a turret to make an upgrade. I don't see anything wrong with the grind. This way it makes tribes harder to abuse it. Nothing should be easy.

Beast were you ever going to try out any of those dinos I recommended for the bosses on the Megalania taming video?

They need to completely nerf being able to throw c4 from dino back to have a fair chance at balancing all this.

They make you recycle a turret because of the turret Nerf. There's going to be a lot of left over turrets laying around.

I think now purlovias will be a lot more affective since you don t have that many turrets per side also spiders and arthros might come in for slowing down ( so you don t need any psx ) and destroying armor on a person. Aslo bees and bear traps could be handy too. Now people can t just put billion tuerrets up and feel safe. They ll have to be smart with their base defense.

Still not seeing how they justify it, I like it sure but seriously? Now alpha tribes will take up much more space on servers as well as them using more annoying traps like spec Y and a heep of bear traps, they're not helping servers or server performance with this change, all they're doing is changing the look of a alpha tribe's base and it'll still be bad laggy performance. Sorry Wildcard you make good stuff but for no good reason

I have to disagree with you on the heavy turrets having seen a bigger test from ThickFreedom. In their latest simulation, a small smelting base with all 100 heavy turrets had a wall section of turrets blasted before the raiding party of 4 stegos was killed despite the help of a few ankys/mantis in neutral left outside and the human owners from inside. Yeah…
It was roughly same size as yours here, so any bigger base would definitly not cut it.Yet it feels like they still want to force that limit on all turrets on us on the long run… 🙁

So for now, hidden traps and mini outposts, why not, but otherwise alpha-mega defense will become tek turrets only, i think.

I bet they will make loads of people demo their turrets to make heavy turrets, then take away the turret limit

For a smart guy you're pretty dumb, the heavy turret uses a normal turret so people can get rid of their excess turrets due to the change.. Smh.

It's fun that your making videos good job, I would recommend a couple important things to make your test more accurate. 1st, 99% of the time the stego you are riding will be imprinted 80%+. The 30% reduced damage while ridden by the one who imprinted the stego is huge when your tanking turrets. 2nd, Most tribes on official servers have at least 30,000 health. The extra 10,000 life does make a difference on placing that c4 and having time to blow. 3rd, the majority of raiders will have a male and female stego to provide the mate boost so that the damage is even further reduced. The 2nd stego also does a good job at diverting more damage away so that the 1st guy can c4. I'm glad you did 100 armor saddles, the mats for stego saddles are cheap so it is easy to get 100 armor with a good crafter. I really hope you do this video again with the three things I mentioned to better see how the turrets actually are. After having tested the new turret sadly I found it to be very underwelming. I hope wildcard pulls back and actually does real testing because with their 100 turret limit as it is does a very poor job for defending a base. chase vlogs/duels had a good point as well "come sideways and take reduced damadge, if you line it up right don't come at it head on or the stego will get headshot".

If you have a fast enough movement speed you can easily place c4 on them and blow them up, requires 1 c4…

They are the equivalent of 4 standard turrets put to one. They have 4x the ammo capacity as well. Therefore, 100 heavy turrets=400 standard turrets… I'd say its a fair trade, helps the computer run easier, but you still get the equivalent of 400 standard turrets.

Luck by nature the heavy shoots 4 bullet instead of 1 you be running out 4x faster using 4x more bullets

The reason they made a normal turret a crafting component was due to the fact that it would allow tribes to easily convert their turrets into the heavy variety without having to grind their already made rotary cannons to their original components. Hope this helps.
