Interconnectivity: The Deeper Meaning of Being in Nature

Being in nature is a source of great joy for many, but is there a deeper meaning beyond the pleasures that nature’s abundance and beauty provide?

This interview with John de Ruiter was filmed on the last day of a 6 day camping trip in the spectacular Canadian Rockies with over 400 people in attendance. In it, he explains not only the deeper meaning of being in nature but the potential value of being in it together.

“We dip right into being in such a different context, a natural context that invites a deeper kind of relaxation… into more of what’s actually available that we’re able to be, not just in nature and together here, but in all of our lives in the city.”—John de Ruiter

Love that John always reaches a deeper meaning to pretty much everything in life, and is able to communicate it so we also get it. He truly is a blessing on all levels.

John is a force of nature and nurture. So delicately clear. Powerfully subtle. His tenderness is so palpable.

A lovely, sweet, profoundly honest interview. I enjoyed seeing Nordegg, reconnecting with the quality of us being together that I can bring into my life at home. Thank you, John. The cinematography is also beautiful! Who shot the video?

I so much like what John "opened" to the children, and I instantly saw myself to zoom in "if I can relate to that" what he is talking about 🙂

"Not relating in some way … to be outside of it with a view of appreciation…" Sayings like that make me smile.
