I share some of the natural remedies and ways I relieve motion sickness when I travel. I’ve just flown to New Zealand and have spent a lot of time in the last few years traveling by plane, car and boat. As someone who really struggles with motion sickness I wanted to share the things that help me when it becomes really overwhelming.

Do you get motion sick too? I’d love to hear ways or natural remedies that you combat it, leave me a comment below! 😊

This is not a natural remedy, but I need gum! I found one that is compostable, but it still comes in a little bit of plastic packaging… Or at least I pretend to have gum and chew on the air, which sounds really strange, but sometimes it works! Eating vegetables also helps.
I listen to music too, best is, if you can hear it out loud and know all the lyrics and sing along. Or I just try to fall asleep.
I somehow get nauseaus only from the smell of certain transportation, I definitely have to try out the peppermint-sleeve!
Also, just in case: Bring plastic baggies with NO holes in them! A lot of them! You never know – you could also help out somebody else!

I get really bad travel sickness too, and my best tactics are listening to music with headphones and eating strong mints~

Hi Kay, This sounds really debilitating and thankfully it is something I dont usually suffer from. Twice on different cruises during rough crossings I have had seasickness and had to just go and lie down to stop the dizzy feeling and that was just an awful feeling and sensation (not helped by husband who cheerfully sat in the restaurant eating a large portion of curry and chips it was a huge restaraunt and there were only 8 other passengers there due to the weather!) I am cruising again at the end of the year so will buy the Gin Gins and wrist bands just in case. My main problem is migraines on long haul flights and I find drinking lots of water, supping hard boiled menthol & eucalyptus sweets and sniffing peppermint help enormously and sometimes works well enough so I dont have to take Migraine medication. Hope you are settling in now and all is going well whats the weather like there? I loved the new jacket on you! Weather warning where I live today for torrential rain and thunderstorms see that heatwave didnt last long! Hugs to you both from back home. XXX

also i find that it also helps to lightly stomp my feet on the floor whilst looking out the front window, to help trick my brain into thinking i’m moving XD

Well done! You didn’t miss out anything! My favourite is to sleep because I get so bored. Also volunteering to drive is good because I have never got travel sick while driving. Oh, and Holland and Barrett sell GinGins! Safe travels xxx

I sometimes feel travel sick in long car journeys and so it's nice on a family journey as my père ts let me sit in the passenger seat.

Thank you for these tips! I've struggled with this for so long….it's so annoying!
On planes, the last handful of times I seem to have gotten progressively worse and worse. And it's always when I'm landing….the whole flight I'll feel a little weird but basically ok but by the time we land I've either been sick, or it's just a matter of time and it lasts for a whole day after which really ruins being on holiday…
However, when I was in china last year I had a lot of internal flights during the trip and I happened to fall to sleep during one and not wake up until we landed. No sickness!! The next one I fell asleep again and the same thing! So by this point I was pretty sure that after years of travel sickness I've almost convinced myself that it's gonna happen? It's like I give myself anxiety over it cause even now I can think about being in a plane and feel the sick feeling I get. So the final flight I knew I wasn't going to sleep, so I took crackers and made sure that I ate them for the entire landing and that worked too! I think eating sent my brain the message like "ok we're eating, so we're not in danger and it's ok" and I felt fine after!!!
I don't know if this will help anyone else, but it's been a life changer for me! Now I always have crackers haha The only transportation I don't get sick on at all is trains (even sitting backward!) I have no idea why but I don't question it 😂

Thank you so much for this video 🙂 Will definitely look out for the ginger candy. Unfortunately the wrist bands don't work for me 🙁
    All the best to you!

Thank you for this video. I get travel sick too, it’s so awful. I get so stressed thinking about what will happen if i get sick on a coach but we can’t pull over 😭 i love the peppermint oil tip. I get so sensitive to smells and they make it worse. I’ve always just binge eaten sugar free mints to try n combat it.

Eating grapes (red ones in particular) are really helpful for me, its like an instant switch off for sickness. I never travel anywhere without grapes (totally random I know) 🙂 xx
