Thank you so much for being so clear with showing us how to do this. I wish everyone was as clear. Instead of making everything too complicated and too clever. There is always a simple way to explain how to do things simply and you just did it. Thanks again

As far as software goes, for example, Microsoft Office or music production software such as FL Studio or Ableton, is it possible to install them to an external hard drive so I would be able to work from either my home desktop or my laptop on the go? It would be a lot easier and more fluid to be able to only have to deal with one copy of everything rather than two, but I'm not sure how the software licenses work and what they might prevent as far as using them on external hard drives goes.

Hi, I'm looking to move photos on various Cloud accounts (mainly Onedrive, some on Google) to an external hard drive so that I can have all my photos from over the years in one place and sort through them. Is there any easy way of doing this?

Hi Chris I am also of the older group of us computer people and have just got a new computer from Dell and I have set it up with my software and files and it is making a terrible noise so it is going back to them to be checked out. Only had it less than 6 weeks. So they told me I should back up all my files as they will most likely clear it. Is there an easy way to do this so that my passwords and run files for my software are all kept that I have purchased on line and have no cds for. Thanks Pat

Chris, any ideas on this? I've been trying to send files from a Windows Vista Home Edition PC to an external hard drive. When I plug in the external hard drive, it shows up in Hard Disc drives on the D drive. It does not show up in devices with removable storage. When I right click on a file to send it to the external hard drive, this option does not show in the drop down menu. So I can't send it there.

Thank you for taking the time to make, and for posting this tutorial. I have many photo folders to move. I had no idea how. Your voice is wonderful to listen to as well.
