So overall what's the difference between this and the book of life… both have to do with similar ideas and around similar themes

My jaw fell on the floor in the theater when it became clear that, yes, in a 2017 Pixar movie, they were going to include a MURDER as a plot point and put it in the foreground.

26:54 I swear I saw a Midnight Screenings on Gnomeo and Juliet. But I also can't find it anywhere. Can't even find the vlog Brad is talking about.

I walked into the Olaf short right about the time that they were hanging that giant bell, which made the singer's death even funnier.

1:00, but the children were bored of the “short” the time I watched the film, xD like you could hear more than one children complaining about when coco will begin, or asking if they were in their wrong movie, it was awful, in my country the short was even taken out xD…my country been Mexico….that woman needs to stop underestimating kids.

    SPOILER TALK:

But yeah, I really enjoyed Coco. I don't mean to act smug, but I called the main twist from before Miguel even got to the land of the dead. I was suspicious right away when he made the assumption that Ernesto de la Cruz was his father just because it was the same guitar from the photo. It felt like there was going to be more to that than initially telegraphed. Then when he got to the land of the dead and we're introduced to Hector, I'm like "nope, that's going to turn out to be his dad, just watch". The only part of the twist I didn't like was the murder. I didn't feel like it was necessary for THAT to be what really happened. I mean, it's fine, and I can how as a screenplay writer you could come the decision that's the best way to resolve all the needed plot threads and provide a tension filled 3rd act. I think I just really liked the Ernesto character throughout the film and it was a disappointment that he ended up being the bad guy. Hector didn't necessarily have to die by murder, it could have been natural causes, and it still could have lead to his family not finding out about it if Ernesto didn't know where Hector came from and therefore who to inform. But whatevs, just something to get off my chest I guess. I still loved the film.

lol that bit at the beginning talking about Olaf's "that time of year" whatever, I thought it was fine enough. It had it's moments. But Sarah's takeaway is something that occurred to me too. All the people in town had shit to do, that's why they couldn't stick around for the nice feast Elsa and Anna had had prepared for them, and yet here they are looking for Olaf at the end. Then once they find Olaf, they all get roped into celebrating Christmas with Elsa and Anna anyway.

In Australia, we do have the Olaf short attached to Coco, but there are two separate sessions for Coco – one with the Olaf short in front of it, and the other session with Coco on its own. So I guess maybe we have you guys to thank for that, Brad? 😛

Dangit, you corrected yourself. I was going to say that the song from Cannibal the Musical is "Let's Build a Snowman." Now I've got nothing.

Can’t wait to see this. Seems like zootopia. No one saw that coming then it was huge. Hopefully this makes a ton at the box office as well.

I have one huge problem with this otherwise very good movie – can we fucking STOP with using unapologetic abusive family as the funny joke? It's one thing Imelda says 'you never play again or you die, kid' but it start her arc and she changes, but the main grandmother? She fucking assaults random people cause they dare play music in public spaces, she destroys Miguel's posessions and talks over him like he's an infant, and she must be locked out of the room and held back at the finale to not attack him again!
Where the fuck did this trend come from? Was it Twillight/50 Shades? But then that's a couple-thing that's been here forever, while Coco and Bad Moms Christmas do it with parents specifically. And it destroys the otherwise the amazing animation for me to the point I was almost walked out!
