there's that admiral that kirk has a couple meetings with in yorktown. before i saw the movie, since they never showed her face, i honestly thought she was going to be playing a talosian. hardcore trek fans will know that she sounds exactly like one of them

If they were to ever make a new Star Trek film and wanted to keep chekov ( because they couldn't think how to explain his absence) do you think Eric Knudsen ( of continuum fame ) could play the role? because I think he looks like an older version of Yelchin..

Beyond is in my opinion the best reboot film. It may not seem like a TOS episode, but its way more Star Trek for me than Into Darkness was. I am a fan of TOS and I did enjoy it. Not as a Trekkie but as a fan of science fiction.

I love Star Trek but this modern version is not it. Star Trek used to have great character dialogue that made the on screen interaction interesting. A little bit of relevant and story enhancing action here and there is ok but this is just like any typical sci fi shoot em up. What happened to kirks brilliance and cunning strategies that nobody else could pull off? The original cast had amazing rapport which cannot simply be replicated. However, with clever dialogue and an intelligent story that gets personal at times would make a huge difference. I'm tired of star ships being destroyed like someone changing old socks. And these galaxy saving plots are also lame. Gene Roddenberry had a vision and granted a little spice added to it made star trek great. 2,3 & 4 are amazing stories with great moments of humour and suspense and even 5 had some great moments although a bad film in the whole it still has kirk being kirk as well as other key characters displaying their personalities we have grown to love. 6 was an entertainment movie where they did try to be a little different but again it's still retains the Star Trek ingredient that made them different to all other space shooters. It's such a Shame that they think a bigger explosion or even more ridiculous opening scenes involving escapes where key characters are supposed to be on the edge of death 2 mins in, what is that all about? Making money is important but why does it dominate everything if it can be a good product that still makes lots of profit? Sadly It's no longer an art form where artists put their vision into the screen. Now it's an accountant fuelled movie where as I read in a comment in this thread and I quote 'painting by numbers'. Corporations are ruining everything these days and we the public can do nothing but sit back and watch our much loved stories and characters gets bastardised into main stream nonsense. The only thing Star Trek about Star Trek beyond is the fact it's written in the title. Such a shame.

Best Star Trek movie since Wrath of Khan. Well, it looks like the Fast & Furious director did what the ppl behind TNG, DS9, VOY, and Enterprise couldn't: make a GOOD Trek film.

I am dislike 535. this is the all-time insult to Gene Roddenberry. J.J. go stick it in the can! take that ugly alien white trash out with you! whoever praises this is just a talking head, not a real person.

on the first movie, the enterprise encounters a huge space thing. the second one khan and the third enterprise is destroyed… if the fourth one doesn't involve whales then i will be disappointed
