Aiyar is a Congress toady – a purely political creature – he'll never give a sensible answer.

The whole show was dedicated to just one sentence. I wonder why. Otherwise a civil conversation between the two politicians who take up so much that the regulars have to just sit and watch. mr Dua coudln't say a lot neither could the other guy

    RSTV,

Please NEVER invite this aiyar again. the man actually chest thumped himself on-air. The revisionist history about Congress' economic revolution isn't even worth replying to.

I love your channel otherwise. But please: NO …. MORE … POLITICIANS

I think modi made this statement to the fool the people of gujarat, He is trying to fool them by presenting that "economic reforms done even after knowing it will have political price." He doesn't care about his party when it comes to national interest.

MODIS demonetisation was a political stunt not an economic stunt.

You do injustice to your channel by calling someone like MS Aiyar. Other Congress persons would be better.

Edit: I wrote the above half way through the debate. Now it looks like any other news channel. Seriously Frank, no politicians at all… No Congress… No BJP

I think Mr. PM statement simply means that he is not hungry for power like congress but he is here to work for the welfare of the country through tough reforms or measures like demonetisation. Opposition might be expecting him to get tense from the regular stupid criticism he is receiving for GST and demonetisation. But this statement was the clear signal to that he is not here in this post for just power and politics instead he is here for the greater good of the country which he will do it at any cost in the future as well. We the people of India will support him as always. Wish BJP wins Gujarat as well.

all congress members always looks frustrated and thus makes fun of themselves in news channels while making statements. They have nothing new apart from just GST and demonetisation.

Mani Shankar Aiyar was the highlight of the show. He literally bashed the BJP's populist statement on logical grounds. Indeed there has not been accurate execution behind the well intentioned economic reforms carried out by them. Also they could have considered the Parliamentary Committee's recommendations over the GST bill when writing it out. Rewriting out a policy, discarding experienced opinion, doesn't make it unique, but fragile.

With such a simple statement The Big Picture has, never before in last 10 months since I watch, made itself into a bad political theater like other news channels. Adding to this by inviting congress member.
