Carve Her Name with Pride (Her Poem)

The Life That I Have

The life that I have is all that I have,
And the life that I have is yours.

The love that I have of the life that I have,
Is yours and yours and yours.

The sleep I shall have, a rest I shall have,
Yet death will be but a pause.

For the peace of my years in the long green grass,
Will be yours and yours and yours.

pwthcim how can you say this is hysterical? The poem is a real poem used by SOE for Violette's code poem. She was murdered in January 1945 by the SS I very much doubt you could have done what she did. She was awarded the George Cross for her valour

+ Steve RoyleWhen the word someone is used it alludes to a human being. Something might be more appropriate as we are dealing with a lower life form here. I'm sure that a good many flushed something similar down the toilet this morning.

To say " this is hysterical" really doesn't surprise me and you know in a way  I am glad that comment was made and printed because its the bravery of people like Violette who gave their lives to enable that moron the freedom to say whatever he wants .WE GAVE UP OUR TODAY FOR YOUR TOMORROW .

Someone thinks this is hysterical! I am sure they would not have had the guts to do what she did and all the other members of SOE.. She has been an hero of mine for many years. There was a movement which believed that she should have got the VC.

This poem is so beautiful. In fact I read it at my Mum's funeral. Both the actress and the character she plays sum up what is good and brave and fine.
