This is a 10/10 song, which is saying something because it's my least favorite on the "Hunky Dory" album

Getting a little bit of Pink Floyd (More specifically The Wall) vibes from this. Love it.

I love this song not only because it's a story told from a cactus' point of view, but because it's called "Eight Line Poem."

    Why, you may ask?

The poem is actually nine lines. Bowie was fucking with us.

The tactful cactus by your window
Surveys the prairie of your room
The mobile spins to its collision
Clara puts her head between her paws
They've opened shops down West side
Will all the cacti find a home
But the key to the city
Is in the sun that pins
    the branches to the sky

Shoot, when I was 24, I was a hostess at a crappy chain restaurant, and Bowie at 24 released this album with wonderful song poems like this one, and was writing Ziggy Stardust. I wish I had had the courage at that age to pursue my dreams like he did.

Strange.. The shortest songs i know that would be a sacrilege to make it longer. So powerful. Still shock by your sudden departure R.I.P.
