one of the best shows, great gothic writing and a shame the emmys never to Rory Kinnear, his portrayal of Frankensteins' monster was the most human person on the show

Does this make anyone else ball up and cry like they've never cried so much before in their life…well it does to me!

His voice is beautiful, 'the monster' to me is the best one out the lot. I cried at the end …poor John Clare

This show had great potential, and was still good, but could have been so much better if someone with actual acting skills would have played Josh Hartnetts character.

I'm rewatching the series on Netflix. this poem was in the beginning of episode s01e03, being quoted by a young Victor Frankenstein too.

I agree with most that this season is rushed… but nobody can say that this wasnt a beautiful scene. What could had made it more poignant if they had put Vannessa at the end touching Mr. Clare and both looking at her grave. This way she would represent the 'glory' she have found in her death and peace. And Mr. Clare would be the 'dream' of him finding a peace of his own. Anyways, beautiful series, my most beloved one. A real hidden gem.

I'm not a fan of poetry but this hit me right in between my eyes. I can't believe I'm actually shedding tears.

This scene broke my heart. He'd lost his son, his wife and now his only friend in the world, Vanessa. He's truly alone now. Alone, and immortal. I think as an ending to the series itself, it's perfect. As an ending for the Creature though, it sucks.

Heartbreaking… I'm glad this series was done the way it was though, and not given a dozen declining season to milk it for cash. Amazing acting all round

John Clare's expression of grief over Vanessa's death, who was his only true friend, brought me to tears. Heartbreaking. I will miss this brilliant series.

The most painful thing was… the reaction of John Clare, the Creature. It just broke me. She was his only friend and at that very moment his only hope. They were two broken things trying to fix each other with smiles and quotes about kinder days. I couldn't handle it, he needed her… He needed her goddamnit.

I'm so dissapointed we won't see what happens to the other characters. Vanessa isn't the only character that grew on me, the others did as well. What about Dorian? What about Lilly? Where did she go how will she continue with her life? Mr. Lyle never showed up again. Why'd they even add that girl with the short hair in the end if they won't continue the show? What was her purpose? I love the show but they left open so much.
