The Poem from Skyfall | James Bond 007 (Daniel Craig) | Heroic Heart

I DO NOT OWN James Bond “Skyfall”. No copyright infringement intended.

M (Judi Dench) quotes a stirring passage from “Ulysses,” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson in the (2012) James Bond movie, “Skyfall.”

Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I always loved how M stared down the barrel of Silva's gun and just had that fearless, steely gaze about her. She came in being called a bureaucrat, but she proved herself to be a clever, courageous leader in many ways.

It's almost like they knew how bad protection of the parliament is. 2 years before it got actually attacked by Islamic terrorists.

First thing the "new" M does when the guy shows up armed is to jump over the table and run toward the gunman. What a boss. The new Bonds have been excellent in creating epic stories and characters with depth.

Why did he have to run? He could have just gotten on one of the many cars around him.

Brilliant action scene : expertly crafted by the formidable Sam Mendes.

I look forward to seeing it every time I view Skyfall, as for ex SAS Lieutenant Colonel Gareth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes) leaping in to action, he's definitely more than a "suit" in an office!.

Sometimes I go on my daily run in a suit so I can feel like I'm James Bond.

    (not really)

yes and Mallory also stepped up to the plate in Spectre ..i think its good Mallory has some military background so he can have authority over Bond in ways Judi Denchs M couldnt … .however saying this Judi Denchs M always commanded tremendous respect in the old bond series from Pierce Brosnan & the rebooted Craig Bond… this is simply one of the best if not the best scene in the movie….

While I like this scene, rewatching it makes me notice some things. (1) When Bond is running, his movement looks weird/unnatural at 1:551:58. Did they speed it up? He looked more natural running before and after that. (2) Why does 007 kick the hicap Glock to Ms Amateur? He's the Pro, he should have used it himself. (3) Why does he leave cover and walk tall into the middle of the room and back, shooting all the way? He totally exposes himself to gunfire for what??? If the BG cannot see him through the fog, he cannot see the BG and might hit innocents. I know, I know: "suspend disbelief" and just enjoy it. It's not a documentary.

The way this scene is shot reminds me of the dark knight when batman is rushing to save Rachel.

"…some of it sunk in; despite my best intentions". Only M can be sarcastic, even when things are going south… Best scene ever from Craig's Bond movies.
